Product Description

Nicorette Gum helps you to give up smoking by alleviating the unpleasant symptoms associated with nicotine withdrawal. These symptoms can include anxiety, irritability, headaches, sweating, and mood swings. These withdrawal symptoms are often a disincentive to quit smoking. When you chew Nicotrol Gum, small amounts of nicotine become released and are absorbed through the lining of the mouth. This provides the smoker with a controlled way to satisfy the body's craving for nicotine.

How to Use

There are two programs to use:

  1. Quit Now Program
  • Chew ONE gum slowly when you feel the urge to smoke (refer to pack leaflet for full directions).  Do not exceed 30 gums in one day
  • After around 3 months, gradually cut down the amount of gum you use each day
  • When you are down to 1-2 gums per day, you can stop using Nicotrol gum.  This should be possible within 6 months from the start of treatment
  1. Reduce to Quit Program
  • When you feel the urge to smoke, chew one gum slowly instead of smoking a cigarette (refer to pack leaflet for full directions)
  • Gradually increase gum use for up to 6 months, while cutting down smoking.  Do not exceed 20 gums in one day
  • When you have cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke to a level where you feel you can quit completely, follow the ‘Quit Now Program’
  • If you have not cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke each day after 6 weeks, see your doctor or a pharmacist

Dose

  • Nicorette gum 2mg is for smokers who smoke less than 20 cigarettes per day
  • Take as directed and as needed

Hazards and Cautions

  • Keep out of reach for children
  • Store below 30C (86F)
  • You should not smoke while using this product

This product should NOT be used by:

  • Persons under 12 years of age
  • Non-smokers
  • You have an allergy to nicotine or any other ingredient in the gum
  • The foil seal is broken

Please consult with your doctor or pharmacist before starting a program with Nicorette gum if you are:

  • Between 12 and 18 years of age
  • Pregnant woman or those intending to become pregnant or are breastfeeding- Taking any form of prescription medicine
  • Suffer from any form of heart or vascular disease, diabetes, liver or kidney disease or have an overactive thyroid condition.
